Bzzzz

Bzzzz, featuring seven tap dancers and a live beatboxer, explores the relationship between two forms of building and breaking pattern, skirting expectation at every turn with a breadth of compositional and choreographic choice. Pairing a remarkable virtuosity and witty relationships to time, space, and each other, CT&Co’s Bzzzz is certain to bring audiences to their feet.

Bzzzz was commissioned by New York City Center for the Fall For Dance Festival. Support for new dance works at City Center is provided by the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation and Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. This piece was also made possible, in part, thanks to an artistic residency at the American Tap Dance Foundation.

Chris Celiz is a musician and teacher as well as a founding member of The Beatbox House. He is the 2015 American 2v2 Champion and has been ranked as one of the top North American beatboxers.
